Stop and search remains a contentious issue. Critics argue that its use falls disproportionately on ethnic minority groups and that it is evidence of institutional racism within the Metropolitan Police. Others argue it is necessary in order to provide greater safety. This dashboard presents data on stop and searches in August 2024. This time period is of interest since it captures the Noting Hill Carnival.
